My Travel Essentials (Celiac Disease)

As the world is slowly starting to open up again, I know we all have the same thing on our minds: travel! The adventure-seeker in me is always itching to explore a new place...so I am excited that it is finally becoming a possibility again! As you all start creating your globetrotting itineraries, I thought I’d share some of my travel essentials. These things have been all over with me and make traveling with celiac disease a breeze. My go-to items are broken into 2 categories: Food-Related and General. Check it out!

Food-Related

Hot Logic Mini

This is at the very top of my list because it is an absolute lifesaver. The Hot Logic Mini is like a personal oven. You stick your meal in it (even something frozen!), plug it in, and it warms the food through...then keeps it at a constant temperature until you're ready to eat! This was my best friend when I was going to tons of tango festivals on the weekends and wanted warm meals in between classes. 5 stars!

Collapsible Silicone Cup

Great for drinks or soups/stews/broths. When I have long layovers I pack powdered bone broth, get hot water from Starbuck, and make myself a little warm soup! And I love that it folds down and stores in your carry-on easily.

BPA-Free Silicone Straws

Have you all seen this trend of making sustainable straws out of wheat?? I love the turtles but that is just not it! So, I now keep a pack of BPA-free silicone straws in my purse at all times. You can be nice to mother nature and avoid gluten cross-contact all at once.

Bamboo Travel Utensil Set

Since the wheat straws weren’t bad enough...they’re making single-use utensils out of wheat too! Gosh, what has the world come to? I’ve had this exact bamboo utensil set for at least 5 years and I’ll have it for at least 5 more. Perfect for everything.

Refillable Toiletries Bottle

I purchased this just before moving to Italy and it has been one of my best travel purchases! The dispenser comes with 3 bottles which you fill with your shampoo/conditioner/body wash (or any other toiletries you like) and then you only have to carry one container instead of a bunch of small containers. Big fan!

Sea Bands

I get very sick on anything that moves! These are a must-have.

Packing Cubes

This is my best-kept secret for staying organized on the go and packing light! These will save you so much time on the front end (packing exactly what fits) AND the back end (no messy suitcase to dig through). Thank me later:)

Selfie Remote

A must-have for any solo traveler who wants to take their travel photos to the next level. The remote Bluetooth connects to your phone and then you can discreetly hold it in your hand to snap the perfect shot! This is a million times better than setting the timer and then running back and forth.
